NASA Championships Entry Fees Increase April 30, 2021

Entry fees for the 2021 NASA Championships Presented by Toyo Tires are set to increase by $50 at midnight on April 30. Racing entry fees increase from $999 to $1,049. Fees for Time Trial competitors rise from $599 to $649. If you’re planning to attend, it’s best to register early to enjoy the greatest savings. It also is beneficial to NASA National staff for planning the event because it helps ensure we can assign race classes to run groups that are most compatible. Ryan Pond and Blake Minasian Split Wins at Auto Club Speedway

With the future of Auto Club Speedway in question, NASA SoCal Spec Miata racers converged in Fontana, Calif., for what should be the first of their last two events at this track. As reported on Racer.com in September, 2020, the NASCAR-owned track is slated to be converted from a 2-mile oval with a road course in its infield to a half-mile short track starting in 2021. Danny Steyn Dominates Spec Miata at Road Atlanta

NASA’s Race for the Pi kicked off Saturday with Danny Steyn running a 1:43.582 to win pole position, followed by Teen Mazda Challenge driver Connor Zilisch, John Allen, Camden Gruber, Keith Williamson and Travis Wiley. NASA Announces Ford Performance Contingency Program

NASA drivers who race with “the blue oval” now can benefit from a new contingency program from Ford Performance. Spec Iron podium finishers in regional competition can net up to $250 in cash when there are three or more starters, with prizes for all podium finishers. In regional championships with five or more competitors, the winner can grab $700 in cash, with $500 and $250 for second and third respectively. After spending the last six years in endurance racing, Pete McIntosh rejoined NASA’s Northeast Region in 2020 with the ambitious goal of winning every race. If you didn’t already know from the direct emails sent to NASA members last Thursday and again on Monday, registration for the 15th annual NASA Championships Presented by Toyo Tires is now open. Broderick Bauguess Doubles Down in Spec Miata at Carolina Motorsports Park

Cold and rainy made for a tough weekend of racing at Carolina Motorsports Park. On Saturday Teen Mazda Challenge racer Camden Gruber claimed pole position in the rain with a 2:12.042 followed by Tyler Harrell, Broderick Bauguess, Yan Dia, Don Elvington and James Harrell.
